Paper Towns 1946 Esso Map!
Posted by: Cindy Dobrez and Lynn Rutan
When we read John Green’s novel, Paper Towns, we learned about the concept of cartographers using fictional towns on their maps for
copyright protection. You can even read more about that practice on Omnictionary, I mean, Wikipedia. We were recently gifted with a 1946 Esso Map of New York State that shows the town of Agloe, NY that plays an important part in the plot of Paper Towns.
So what interesting item have YOU collected to go with a favorite book you own? Leave us a comment, we’d love to know.

I thought this was fascinating too! And Omnictionary is actually real. It’s just like wikipedia.
