Sequel Heaven

Lynn: I love this job! I get paid to read and right now you should see the books on the top of my to-read stack. I am in sequel heaven! There are so many awesome books that I couldn’t chose between them so I closed my eyes, mixed them up, made a stack and am blissfully working my way through them. How awesome is that? So far everything is wonderful and I’m having a glorious time. We’ll be blogging some of these soon.

Cindy: Lynn is right. The year started off with a sequel to my favorite series on the planet, Megan Whalen Turner’s Eugenides Thief series, with the equally brilliant A Conspiracy of Kings and the rest of the year has continued to provide sequels to series I love:
Monsters of Men (Candlewick 2010) by Patrick Ness
Mockingjay (Scholastic 2010) by Suzanne Collins
And, I had strict orders from my secretary to either show up with Jeff Kinney’s new Diary of a Wimpy Kid sequel, The Ugly Truth (Amulet 2010), today or not show up at all. I stopped and bought some on the way to school this morning…anything to keep my wonderful secretaries happy! 
Oh, and my middle schoolers, too, of course!
I’m currently reading The Ring of Solomon and hope this means that Jonathan Stroud has found a way to continue to bring us Bartimaeus stories…I just love old Bart and he is not disappointing me in this installment either. Lynn is right, life is good.
